Malin Kundang Once upon a time, in West Sumatera beach, there lived a woman and her son. His name is Malin Kundang. Malin’s father was already passed away, so Malin and her mother had to work hard for their life. Malin Kundang was a healthy, diligent and strong boy. He usually went to the sea to catch fish and then he sold it in the town. One day, when Malin Kundang was sailing, he saw a merchant’s ship which was being raided by a band of pirates. With his brave, he saved the merchant and defeated the pirates. The merchant was so happy and asked Malin to join him and Malin agreed his offer. A few years later, Malin Kundang became rich with a huge ship, loads of trading goods, many ship crews and a beautiful wife. One day in his journey, his ship landed on a beach.
